   Board Supervisors are elected to a three-year term by a special public election outlined in Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 940. The Board is comprised of 5 elected officials whose primary responsibility is to set the direction of the organization through long range planning and policy setting.

   All candidates for the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors must be referred to the Board by the Nomination Committee. Elections to fill vacant seats on the Board of Supervisors take place during the Morrow SWCD Annual Banquet in December. 

   Those interested may stop in our Main Office at 5362 US 42 Suite 202, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338 or email mocoswcd@redbird.net.

ELECTION NOTICE:

The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Individuals who own or occupy land within the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote for Supervisor.

 

There are three ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:

 

1.) At the SWCD office, 5362 US 42, Suite #202, Mt. Gilead, OH 43338, from 11/24/2024 until 12/23/2024 during normal business hours; or

 

2.) At the SWCD Annual Meeting, which will take place at Cardington American Legion, 307 Park Street, Cardington, OH 43315 on 12/7/2024 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm ; or

 

3.) Voting absentee from 11/24/2024 until 12/23/2024, by requesting the ballot application and election ballot from the SWCD office at the following address 5362 US 42, Suite #202, Mt. Gilead, OH 43338, by calling 419-946-7923, or email mocoswcd@redbird.net.

 

Absentee ballots must be received by the SWCD office by 12/23/2024 and 4:00 pm.                                     

                                 

 One Supervisor  will be elected to a three‐year term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2027.

 Tyler grew up in Morrow County, just north of Cardington, OH, and graduated from Mount Gilead High School. Receiving a degree in agricultural communications and animal science from The Ohio State University in 2015, Tyler set his sights on natural resources conservation. With a career driven by education people about wildlife, Tyler has taught the importance of the wise use of natural resources through his work with the Wilds Conservation Center, Michigan United Conservation Clubs, the National Environmental Education Development Academy, ECO Center Ohio, Terradise Nature Center and Park Avenue Elementary School.

District Technician

   Mike and his family have lived in Morrow County since 2006. His three kids have attended Mount Gilead Schools and he has been active in the community with the Mount Gilead Tree City USA board.

   Mike enjoys watching his kids in their activities, skiing, camping, traveling

and working their small hay farm in the summer. Mike enjoys the opportunity

to work with the county residents to help them resolve their conservation

concerns with responsible practices and good stewardship of the land.

Bailey

Admin. Assistant

   Jamie Bailey lives in Mt. Gilead with her husband Jim and is an active member at North Woodbury Alliance Church. She enjoys being outside, photography, traveling, and spending time with family, especially her 4 (soon to be 5) grandchildren.

   Jamie is passionate about assisting our County in conservation, especially teaching during Morrow SWCD's WEE Discover Program at Headwaters Outdoor Education Center.
