With 2024 in the rear view mirror, it's hard to believe we are quickly approaching that time of year best represented by campus visits, class registrees and graduation caps. It is with great pleasure that the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District facilitate the reach and selection of four academic scholarships for students continuing their education.

Scholarship applications must be turned into the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District Office no later than 4:30pm on April 4th for consideration. The Selection Committee will convene on the evening of April 9th, 2025, to determine the results of the application pool. Recipients for all scholarships will be notified and announced the week of April, 14th, 2025.

The available scholarships are as follows:
The Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District Annual Scholarship is offered to Morrow County high school seniors entering there freshman year of a two (2) or four (4)- year college or technical school. It is funded through the generosity of our partners and Annual Meeting atendance.
-Students must be residents of Morrow County
-Students must have maintained at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
-Applications must be accompanied by a copy of the student’s high school transcript.
The Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District, in cooperation with the family of the late Donald McGinnis, a 16 year member of the Morrow SWCD Board of Supervisors, has made available an annual $500 memorial scholarship for Morrow County high school seniors entering as a freshman at a two (2) or four (4)-year accredited college.
-Students must be pursuing an Environmental or Agricultural course of study
-Students must have maintained at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
-Applications must be accompanied by a copy of the student’s high school transcript.
In honor of Steve Ruhl, former OSU Extension Agricultural and Natural Resources Agent, the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District has developed a $500 continuing scholarship for Morrow County residence that are full-time college students entering the second year of an Associate Program, a Junior or Senior in a Bachelor Program, or in graduate school. Applicants will be judged on GPA, application of major course of study to environmental issues, agriculture, or education, references, and leadership potential
-Applicants must be maintaining a 2.5 grade point average in a 4.0 scale
-Applicant may not have been the recipient of a previous Morrow SWCD scholarship
-Applications must be accompanied by a copy of the student’s high school transcript and three letters of reference.
The Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District, in cooperation with the family of the late Robert Wuertz, Jr., a 30 year member of the Morrow SWCD Board of Supervisors, has made available an annual $1000 memorial scholarship for Morrow County high school seniors entering as a freshman at a two (2) or four (4)-year accredited college and pursuing an Agricultural or Mechanical course of study.
-The applicant must be a senior at one of the five Morrow County high schools
-Students must have maintained at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
-Applications must be accompanied by a copy of the student’s high school transcript.
